MAURUM was the first independent video firm that was established during the few alarming years before Estonia restored its independence. The Soviet red flag was hanging over Tallinn, Soviet soldiers inhabited the barracks, the Empire's rockets were hidden in our woods. But there was already a sense of a new era in the air. The year was 1988.

MAURUM received its christening with fire when Estonia, along with the other Baltic States, was in the front news of international news channels. Reports of the struggles for Estonia's independence, the fall of the Soviet Union and the famous Singing Revolution in Estonia were often made under the line of fire of the landing force.

During these years MAURUM acquired valuable experience of working internationally and operatively and gained the reputation of a trustworthy partner, which still characterises the firm.
